Any discussion of art opens up new avenues of thought, research, reflection, and introspection. These have always been the purposes of art since the creation of art by mankind. Some artworks offer social comment on their various artistic periods and their societies or cultures. Furthermore, some artists' lifestyles or subject matter also serve as comment on their own lives or lives of those around them. this special presentation was developed to look into the lives of a few noteworthy artists throughout history and their unique subject matter. Many of these artists were ahead of their time in content and social relevance. Some of these artists were also very secure with their choice of subject matter and media, whereas, others were not and suffered greatly.
